Next, we’ll continue to the Maras Salt Mines, a spectacular landscape formed by thousands of salt ponds<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, you’ll visit Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca fortresses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, you’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Very early, you’ll ascend to the citadel for a guided tour where you’ll learn about the history, architecture, and significance of this unique site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the tour, you’ll have free time to explore or simply enjoy the surroundings. Optional (subject to availability and additional cost):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      *<\/strong>Ascent of Huayna Picchu Mountain, from whose summit you’ll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Machu Picchu citadel and its natural surroundings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afterward, descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon, return by train to Ollantaytambo, then continue by land to the city of Cusco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palcoyo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palcoyo is a more accessible and peaceful alternative to Vinicunca, ideal for those who prefer a shorter hike with less physical exertion.
