Detailed Itinerary

We begin the journey in the morning, departing from Cusco toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a region renowned for its natural beauty, ancient history, and preserved Andean lifestyle.

Along the way, you will discover some of the most representative sites of the Inca world:

  • Pisac, with its impressive agricultural terraces and traditional artisan market
  • Ollantaytambo, one of the few Inca towns still inhabited today

Enjoy lunch at a tourist restaurant in the valley, surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes.

In the afternoon, transfer to Ollantaytambo and check in to your hotel. This charming town is the perfect place to rest and acclimatize before starting the Inca Trail the following day.

Early in the morning, we head to the train station to begin the journey to Km 104, the starting point of one of the most iconic hikes in the world.

From here begins your Short Inca Trail experience, an exclusive route with limited access that combines nature, history, and spectacular scenery.

During the hike, you will visit:

  • Chachabamba
  • Wiñay Wayna, one of the most impressive complexes along the route

The most special moment of the day comes when reaching Inti Punku, where you will have your first breathtaking view of Machu Picchu at sunset—an experience difficult to put into words.

We then descend to Aguas Calientes.

The hike lasts approximately 6 to 7 hours, with a moderate difficulty level, ideal for active travelers.
