Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that many questions may arise before traveling, especially when it comes to such a unique experience as visiting Cusco, exploring Machu Picchu, and experiencing the incredible Inti Raymi Festival.

Inti Raymi takes place every year on June 24th in Cusco. This ancestral celebration represents the most important ceremony of the Inca Empire honoring the Sun God “Inti” and is currently considered one of the most impressive cultural events in South America.

We highly recommend booking this program as early as possible, ideally between 3 and 6 months before your trip.

During the Inti Raymi season, hotels, train tickets, and Machu Picchu entrances are in very high demand and often sell out quickly.

Entrance to Machu Picchu is managed through the official circuits authorized by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture.

The assigned circuit will depend on availability at the time of booking confirmation, always aiming to provide the best possible experience.

This is not an extreme adventure tour; however, it does include moderate walking and visits to archaeological sites with stairs and uneven paths.

We recommend:

  • Having basic physical fitness
  • Being comfortable walking for several hours
  • Taking the first day easy to acclimate to the altitude

Cusco is located over 3,300 meters (10,800 feet) above sea level, so some travelers may experience mild discomfort during the first hours.

For better acclimatization, we recommend:

  • Resting upon arrival
  • Staying hydrated
  • Avoiding heavy meals and alcohol on the first day
  • Drinking coca tea or trying coca candies.

Our team will always be available to provide assistance and recommendations throughout your trip.

Cusco’s weather can change considerably throughout the day, so dressing in layers is highly recommended.

Suggested items:

  • Comfortable walking clothes
  • Warm jacket for the evenings
  • Comfortable shoes or sneakers
  • Rain jacket or poncho
  • Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

To enter Machu Picchu, it is mandatory to present:

  • Your original passport or valid ID
  • The same document used at the time of booking
